BANK NEGARA INTERNATIONAL RESERVES AT USD104.8 BLN AS AT SEPT 15, 2020

                      BNM International Reserves amounted USD104.8 billion as Sept 15, 2020 KUALA LUMPUR:  The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) amounted to USD104.8 billion as at 15 September 2020, said the central Bank in a statement released Wednesday.  It said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.7 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times total short-term external debt.  BNM said the main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$104.8 billion), International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$1.3 billion), Special Drawing Rights (US$1.1 billion), gold (US$2.2 billion), and other reserve assets (US$3.9 billion).  According to the central bank, the assets comprised gold and foreign exchange and other reserves, including SDRs amounting to RM448.13 billion; Malaysian government papers (RM10.95 billion); deposits with financial institutions (RM7...
